About us
Hello! My name is Daniel, owner and currently the one-man-show of DJ's Exterior Cleaning! I started this business in early 2025, with the goal of bringing life back to the homes and commercial spaces of East-Gippsland. Driving around, seeing property after property covered in all kinds of organic growth, I had to do something about it! (very altruistic, I know). Although I began services in 2025, I actually began learning about exterior cleaning services online in 2022, growing in passion and knowledge for what I now do. I am committed and well-equipped to get the best outcome for your home or commercial space (with a little bit of healthy perfectionism)! You can trust in great results, and friendly service. We'll take care of you, so leave it with DJ's...

You might be wondering...
What is soft washing?
Soft washing is a safe and highly effective exterior cleaning method that uses low-pressure water combined with specialised cleaning solutions to remove organic growth such as mould, mildew, algae, moss, and lichen from surfaces. Unlike traditional high-pressure washing, which relies on force to blast away dirt, soft washing targets the root of organic contaminants by killing them at the source.
This technique is ideal for cleaning roofs, house exteriors, painted surfaces, and delicate areas that could be damaged by high-pressure methods. The biodegradable, eco-friendly solutions used in soft washing break down and treat the build-up, preventing regrowth and helping surfaces stay cleaner for longer.
Soft washing not only improves your home's curb appeal but also protects and extends the life of your exterior surfaces. By preventing organic growth from deteriorating paint, tiles, and siding, soft washing is an essential part of long-term property maintenance.
What equipment do we use?
At DJ’s Exterior Cleaning, we take pride in using only professional-grade, industry-leading equipment to deliver the best results safely and efficiently.
We use an industrial-level Spitwater pressure washer, known for its powerful, reliable performance and ability to handle the toughest exterior cleaning jobs, from concrete driveways to commercial buildings.
Our setup includes top-of-the-line pressure hose (grey non-marking hose, gold standard) and pressure-graded hose reels, which ensure consistent water flow, reduce kinks, and make the job more efficient and tidy to give you the best service and price.
For chemical application, we use an X-Jet system, which allows us to apply stronger cleaning solutions without running chemicals through the main pump, protecting our equipment and providing precise control. We also use a downstream injector, ideal for applying lower-concentration detergents or sanitising solutions during soft washing and general exterior cleaning.
We carefully select and use locally sourced chemicals, which are safe for your home and applied with safe practice the environment. These are specifically formulated for removing mould, algae, mildew, oil stains and organic stains on houses, roofs, and outdoor surfaces.
For glass and solar panel cleaning, we rely on a window cleaning purification system paired with a water-fed extension pole, allowing us to clean windows streak-free from the ground up to multiple stories; with the option of traditional cleaning methods (less cost-effective).
To deliver spotless, uniform results on large flat areas, we use a Spitwater surface cleaner, which ensures an even, professional finish on driveways, pathways, and patios.
By investing in the highest quality equipment and cleaning solutions, we’re able to provide safe, thorough, and long-lasting exterior cleaning results — protecting your property and enhancing its appearance.
What chemicals do we use?
In exterior cleaning, different chemicals are used depending on the surface type and the type of dirt or organic growth being removed. At DJ’s Exterior Cleaning, we carefully select the safest and most effective solutions for each job, as well as rinsing your greenery before, during and after when utilising sodium hypochlorite to ensure they aren't damaged.
The most common chemicals include:
Sodium hypochlorite (basically chlorine): Widely used in soft washing to kill organic growth such as mould, algae, moss, and mildew at the root. It’s highly effective on roofs, cladding, and as a pre/post treatment on concrete.
Surfactants (detergents or soaps): Added to help cleaning solutions stick to surfaces longer, break down grime, and improve rinsing. Surfactants also help reduce run-off and improve overall cleaning efficiency.
Degreasers (typically sodium hydroxide based): Often used for heavy-duty degreasing on driveways, concrete, and industrial surfaces. It’s excellent for breaking down oil stains and built-up grease.
Oxalic acid: Commonly used for removing rust stains or restoring wood surfaces, especially on decks and fences.
Deoxidisation blends: Used for oxidised cladding and such, often recognised by chaulky paint residue, bringing the colour and clarity back to your cladding.
All chemicals we use are locally sourced whenever possible, ensuring they are applied safely for your property and surrounding environment while still providing powerful cleaning results.
